Alfredo Morelos is 'getting sharper' as Steven Gerrard praises his solo Rangers fitness sessions

Alfredo Morelos is looking "better on the eye" and getting sharper after a series of solo Rangers fitness sessions throughout the international break, according to Steven Gerrard.

The Ibrox boss praised the Colombian for putting the hard yards in over the last two weeks while many of his teammates were away representing their countries.

Morelos has been linked with a host of clubs this summer, and Gerrard said at the start of the season his head had been turned.

The Ibrox boss commented before the international break that the striker was looking "refocused" and he's backed that up in the last fortnight.

Gerrard said: “He [Morelos] has had one day off since Hamilton, so he’s come in and trained alone with the fitness coach, which was good to see. That was his own doing.

“That tells me he’s focused and he wants to be ready for the games coming up. He certainly looks better on the eye. He looks like he’s getting sharper.

"He'll train again this morning and he'll be available for selection tomorrow."

Cedric Itten and Jermain Defoe are also back in training, while Kemar Roofe is looking sharp according to the Ibrox boss, so Morelos faces a fight for that striker's jersey.

Joe Aribo and Allan McGregor have been ruled out of the Dundee United match through injury.
