Alfredo Morelos in Rangers injury doubt as Steven Gerrard looks for Kilmarnock 'variety'

Steven Gerrard has revealed Alfredo Morelos took a kick against Lech Poznan and Rangers are monitoring his situation before Sunday's game with Kilmarnock.

The Colombian got back on the scoresheet against Poznan on Thursday night for his first goal in seven games since he scored against Hibs in September.

Morelos also has a good record against Kilmarnock with 11 goals in 11 games against the Rugby Park side, including four in one game in 2019.

But Gerrard will leave it late to decide on whether he plays against Alex Dyer's men after picking up a knock on Thursday night, while Ryan Jack is also a doubt.

He said: "Alfredo Morelos took a kick and Ryan Jack did as well. We will take a look this morning but nothing too serious hopefully.

"We have to move on very quickly and focus on a big game at Rugby Park, we will go there and give it our best.

"We will decide on a team we think is capable of getting the three points we need.

"Against a block, we have to have a variety in our play and move the ball quickly and take our opportunities when they come.

"Killie are a team that are well-drilled and it is always a tricky game."
