The Daily Mail state the club have engaged through a third party over the availability of a player who scored 29 goals in all competitions last seson.
And a separate report in his native Colombia claims Leicester City are readying a bid for a player who has been linked with a host of clubs over the past 18 months.
Record Sport enquired after a previous link with Brendan Rodgers' side and were told there was no interest in the player at that present time.
Morelos has consistently said he is happy at Rangers and has repeatedly stated his ambition to test himself either in the English Premier League or La Liga.
