Alfredo Morelos handed Colombia start as Rangers star looks to stake claim vs Algeria

Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos will start for Colombia in their friendly against Algeria tonight.

Carlos Queiroz has named the Ibrox striker in his starting XI as he looks to stake his claim for a regular spot in the national side.

Morelos came off the bench in their stalemate against Chile, but was able to play the majority of the match.

Duvan Zapata went off injured in the 23rd minute and Morelos will now take his place and lead the line for Queroz's men after he failed to shrug off the injury in time.

The Rangers forward was recalled to the national squad for the friendlies after his blistering start to the season.

The 23-year-old has helped Steven Gerrard's side climb to the top of the Premiership table by notching 14 goals so far in this campaign.
