Alfredo Morelos gets unanimous Rangers red card verdict but Sportscene pundits split on Darren McGregor

Sportscene pundits unanimously agreed Alfredo Morelos should have been sent off against Hibs - but were split on Darren McGregor.

Chris Iwelumo and Shelley Kerr ran the rule over the two controversial flashpoints from the Rangers ' 1-0 Premiership victory at Easter Road on Wednesday night.

Morelos was deemed lucky to escape a sending off for appearing to stamp on Ryan Porteous during the first-half.

The Colombian striker then bagged the only goal of the game to keep Steven Gerrard's side 23 points clear of Celtic at the league summit.

Hibs defender McGregor then stood accused of stamping on Glen Kamara after the interval, but Kerr and Iwelumo couldn't agree on whether he should've walked.

Here's their verdict in full.

Shelley: "Yeah, I mean, you see it in the live view it doesn't look as bad but when you slow it down you can see the referee has got a great view of it, it's a red card.

Chris: "I think his view is blocked a little by the right knee of Porteous. But again, you can see the intent, but we see it slowed down. It is a stamp, it is a red card, it is as simple as that, the referee got it wrong.

"Will there be any action? I would think so, I would think so.

Shelley: "I'm not sure, it depends, the referee spotted it, it will be interesting to see what happened but there's absolutely no doubt that it is a red card."

On McGregor

Shelley: "When you see the Darren McGregor one, firstly, there is no reason to do that on the touchline, he ragdolls him on the touchline, it's the best description you can give.

"You see after there is a bit of a stamp on the calf but I think the biggest difference is I don't think there is the intent there but it is debatable."

Chris: "I'm looking at that, and as a player, you know you can dodge, you can miss him where you're stamping down.

"I think the referee did not spot the stamp but he's been booked for the wrestle.

"Again, it's another naughty one, but we get it slowed down, it's the natural movement of coming down, he can easily not come down on the player there."
