Alfredo Morelos flames Lille speculation as Rangers star shares transfer query in deleted twitter post

Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has sparked further speculation over his future by sharing and then deleting a report from his homeland asking if he should join Lille.

The Ligue 1 side have already had a bid rejected for him and are prepared to come back in with a £17million offer, while Record Sport exclusively revealed last week West Brom are also interested.

But many Rangers fans hoped that it might be a thing of the past as the French side neared two striker signings following the exit of Victor Osimhen to Napoli.

Canadian frontman Jonathan David was their original target and they returned with a €30m bid for him this week.

That gave Ibrox supporters with optimism but some of them had their views changed again when Morelos tweeted a video of his goals in the Europa League on Monday afternoon.

El Bufalo is fond of sharing videos of him hitting the back of the net and they're normally greeted with messages of support from a Rangers fanbase that love the Colombian striker.

But on this occasion it left them worried when they read the initial tweet that came with the video of the goals. Morelos later deleted the tweet but not before it had panicked supporters with some feeling that he knew what he was doing.

It came from a Colombian sports outlet, ToqueSports, and they said: "Alfredo Morelos has 8 games, 6 goals and one assist this season in the Europa League with Rangers. Would you like him to sign for Lille?"

One fan, @MikeRFC_ asked: “You trolling us?”

@marc6184911 added: “Very poor to retweet this. Slap in the face to management and team mates.”

@miffy1872 said: “That’s a I want out of here come and get me Lille”

Morelos started for Steven Gerrard's men against Aberdeen on Saturday in the opening game of the Premiership season, and is expected to do the same on Thursday against Bayer Leverkusen.
