Alfredo Morelos faces Marseille 'interest' as Ligue 1 club make cheeky LOAN offer for Rangers striker

A report in France claims Marseille are interested in Alfredo Morelos - but they only want to take him on loan.

The Rangers striker has been the subject of interest from Lille this summer, with the Ligue 1 side seeing a bid knocked back.

Manager Steven Gerrard admitted that El Bufalo's head has been turned by the interest in him and left him out of the squad for Saturday's win over Kilmarnock.

Now French outlet Le10Sport claims that Marseille are also keen but want to take Morelos on loan.

OM are in financial difficulty, and despite qualifying for the Champions League have very little room for manoeuvre on the transfer market.

Coach Andre Villas Boas wants another striker this summer but a loan bid has no chance of tempting the Ibrox hierarchy to sell unless there is a guaranteed purchase next summer.

Rangers have been clear they'll only sell if a club meets their asking price, believed to be around £20million.

And Morelos will be available for selection against Hamilton at the weekend as he and the club await a new offer from Lille.

The Ligue 1 club have sold defender Gabriel to Arsenal for £30million and could come in with a new offer for El Bufalo.
