Alfredo Morelos eyes Rangers goal glory as striker sets top-scorer target

Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos is targeting goal glory in Europe, ahead of next month's clash with Bayer Leverkusen.

The Ibrox club will finally play their Europa League second leg on August 6, as they look to overturn a 3-1 deficit from the home tie in March.

While Steven Gerrard 's side have a mountain to climb in Germany, it appears Morelos is determined to make his mark on the competition.

El Bufalo is currently joint top-scorer with six goals, and on Twitter the Rangers striker hinted that he's targeting the competition's golden boot next month.

The Gers returned to action for the first time since that European first leg on Friday, as they beat Hamilton 2-1 in a closed doors friendly.

Ronan Hughes put Hamilton ahead but new signing Calvin Bassey equalised with a bullet header on a corner.

Morelos was immediately back among the goals, converting a late penalty after being fouled by Markus Fjortoft.

Gers will continue their preparations with a mini-tournament in France as they look to go into the opening game of the season away at Aberdeen in top condition.
