Alfredo Morelos earns Romelu Lukaku praise as Rangers striker hailed for 'great sportsmanship'

Romelu Lukaku has hailed Alfredo Morelos after the Colombian stopped so an Antwerp player could get treatment.

The Inter Milan striker was watching closely with younger brother Jordan in action for the Belgian outfit against Rangers at Ibrox.

And he was impressed by how Morelos stopped the play so Jeremy Gelin could get treatment after he pulled up and clutched his hamstring.

The Rangers frontman was racing through on goal at the time and could have slipped in Ryan Kent but instead raised his hand and stopped the player.

Antwerp skipper Ritchie De Laet shook his hand and praised him and it was a view shared by Lukaku as he heaped praise on Morelos.

He tweeted: "Fair play to morelos from glasgow rangers. Through on goal and stopping for an injury of the opponent.. great sportsmanship."

Lukaku is now at Inter Milan having spent much of his career in England with Manchester United, Everton and Chelsea.

He's also the cousin of Celtic defender Boli Bolingoli, who is currently on loan in Turkey with Istanbul Basekshir after being caught up in Covid-19 controversy while in Glasgow.
