Alfredo Morelos has been praised for adapting his game to help Rangers back to the summit of Scottish football.
The Ibrox club ended a decade of hurt by cruising to the Scottish Premiership title as Steven Gerrard delivered the ultimate prize at the end of his third season in charge.
Morelos has played a big part in that success and has been heavily linked with a big money move to Portuguese giants Porto.
He netted 17 times last season - his lowest tally since signing in 2017 - but coach Michael Beale praised improvements in his all-round game.
The Ibrox coach described the Colombian as a “butterfly” rather than by his traditional “El Bufalo” moniker.
And Beale admitted that his time working in Brazil has helped him better understand South American players and in turn, what makes Morelos tick.
He told the Coaches Voice: “Alfredo Morelos is like a butterfly at times. As Rangers have become a better team, other teams have sat back. If Alfredo comes short, someone else goes long.
“My time in Brazil was great in learning about South America, which has helped me work with him.
“Some of the players in Brazil need to be a football player, it’s not that they want to be. Social, economic and family reasons.
“The culture’s fascinating. Standing back and understanding the culture, the good and the bad, was great for my development.”
