Alfredo Morelos Celtic post backfires as Rangers striker suffers premature celebration

Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos appeared to send a pointed message to Celtic during the Scottish Cup final - only to see them lift the trophy.

Neil Lennon's side took a 2-0 lead against Hearts with less than half an hour on the clock and appeared to be cruising toward a 12th domestic trophy on the spin.

The Jambos staged a second half fightback though, with Liam Boyce reducing the deficit and Stephen Kingsley drawing Robbie Neilson 's men level.

And that appeared to prompt a reaction from Morelos as he posted on his Instagram account.

The striker posted an image of himself at Celtic Park giving a "shush" gesture the the home supporters.

The apparent dig went down a storm with Rangers fans who praised El Bufalo for his message to their title rivals.

If it was intended as a trolling attempt the rest of the match somewhat undermined Morelos.

The final went to extra-time and Leigh Griffiths put the holders into a 3-2 lead.

Josh Ginnelly grabbed an equaliser in the second half of extra-time but Celtic went on to win 4-3 on penalties.

That secured them a historic quadruple Treble, though they remain 16 points adrift of Rangers in the Premiership with three games in hand.
