Alfredo Morelos can win 'bigger move' to England from Rangers insists old team-mate

RoPS midfielder Lucas Lingman hasn’t been surprised to see Alfredo Morelos grab the headlines in Scotland.

He played alongside the striker at HJK Helsinki before he won his big-money move to Rangers.

Morelos has scored goals for fun and is now one of the top-rated strikers in Europe although his temperament has also turned more than a few suitors off.

Lingman said: “If he continues to score at the rate he has done in Scotland he can win a move to a bigger club in England. I am not surprised he’s done so well in Scotland.

“He’s mentally and physically fit enough to compete. Yes, mentally, he was so strong. He doesn’t care if you kick him but in Finland he wasn’t kicked as much as he is in Scotland.

“I hope he can play at a higher level because he is a very good player and a good person and I wish the best for him.”

Lingman wants to dump Aberdeen because he knows it could help him follow in the footsteps of Morelos. The 21-year-old midfielder provided the pass that brought the Finns’ vital away goal at Pittodrie and now he wants to land a knockout blow in the RoPS Arena.

He added: “I was happy that we drew Aberdeen because it’s a big chance for our young players. If you play well, who knows what can happen.”
