Alfredo Morelos breaks out the booze as Rangers striker shares birthday cake for the ages

Rangers star Alfredo Morelos celebrated his birthday with a cake for the ages.

The striker turned 23 on Friday and took to Instagram to share the celebrations taking place with him and his family.

He was pictured standing under a balloon arch showing off a treat designed in the shape of, yes, a crate of Corona.

Opportunities to have a night on the beer are few and far between for the modern footballer so maybe this was the next best thing for the Colombian.

Although there were two bottles of the popular Mexican lager stuffed into the top of the cake, as well as several more dotted around the scene as Morelos posed for snaps.

A drink or two is perhaps justifiable given the punishing regime the Rangers players will be put through when they jet off to Portugal in the next few days.

Steven Gerrard is taking his squad to the continent for a pre-season training camp as he looks to whip his stars into shape ahead of the new season.

Joining them will be centre-back George Edmundson after he agreed a four-year deal to join from Oldham on Friday.

The 21-year-old became the club's sixth signing of the summer as he followed Steven Davis Greg Stewart, Jordan Jones, Jake Hastie, Sheyi Ojo.

Charlton midfielder Joe Aribo is next on Gerrard's hit list and the 22-year-old could also be on the plane to Portugal next week.

He's reportedly told Addicks boss Lee Bowyer he wants to quit and head to Ibrox.
