Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has ‘agreed terms’ on a move to Porto, according to a report.
The Colombian has been heavily linked with a move to the Portuguese outfit but is currently on international duty at the Copa America.
He was expected to move on last summer but a move to Lille never materialised despite public courting from the French side.
And now Antena 1 say there is ‘total agreement’ that Morelos will move to the Primera Liga side this summer.
It would be a huge blow to Steven Gerrard’s men ahead of Champions League qualifiers.
The Ibrox men have strengthened their attacking options with the signing of Fashion Sakala, but losing Morelos wouldn’t have been in their plans.
It was always likely that El Bufalo would attract further interest after another impressive season domestically and in Europe.
His agent was spotted in Portugal although it is understood he was there negotiating another player’s move to the English Premier League.
But with reports in the country now stating that a deal has been agreed between Morelos and Porto, it now looks like he could finally be on his way out of Ibrox.
Rangers are unlikely to accept a low offer though and suggestions Porto could bid £10m would appear to be too little for them to consider.
The Ibrox men turned down £16m from Lille last summer and although sales are needed as part of the club’s philosophy, they are likely to play hardball over the fee.
But neither Rangers, Morelos or Gerrard will want another drawn out negotiation similar to what happened last summer when the Ibrox manager admitted his star striker’s head had been turned by the interest in him.
