Manchester United loanee Alexis Sanchez experienced a dramatic full debut for Inter Milan on Saturday, as the Chilean forward netted a brace but saw his involvement in the match ended prematurely.
The former Arsenal and Barcelona ace moved to the San Siro on loan from United in the summer and has had to be patient waiting for his opportunities with Antonio Conte's side.
Sanchez's first two Serie A appearances for Inter came off the bench but he started against Sampdoria on Saturday night.
Inter's quest to make it six consecutive league wins in a row this season started in ideal fashion, with Sanchez scoring twice before the interval to open his account for the Italian side.
The first goal came in fortunate circumstances as Sanchez inadvertently ricocheted an effort from Stefano Sensi off his back and past goalkeeper Emil Audero.
His second also involved Sensi, who poked the ball across goal for the 30-year-old to tap home - scoring his second in a matter of minutes.
However, his hunt for a hat-trick never got going in the second half as the South American was sent off shortly after the break, which means he will miss next weekend's game against Juventus through suspension.
Having been booked in the first half, Sanchez was shown a second yellow card for simulation within a minute of the restart.
The dismissal was only the second of Sanchez's career, with his previous sending off also coming in Serie A during his time with Udinese.
