Alexis Sanchez 'on the cusp' of Inter Milan transfer and more Manchester United rumours

Alexis Sanchez is reportedly willing to take a pay cut to leave Manchester United, with a loan move to Inter Milan close to being agreed, reports say.

Sanchez is yet to feature for United this season after returning late to pre-season following the Copa America, but has only scored five times for the club since joining from Arsenal in 2018.

The Chilean was linked with a move away from United over the summer, but remains at the club after the English transfer window closed on August 8. With European leagues still permitted to buy players, though, he could move abroad until September 2.

And now reports claim that Sanchez is eager to leave Old Trafford before that deadline, and he could link up with Romelu Lukaku at Inter. Former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is apparently a long-time admirer of Sanchez.

The Daily Mail say that the move is ‘on the cusp of being agreed’ — although the financial details are yet to be confirmed.

They claim Inter want to pay €5million (£4.5m) up front for a season-long loan and then a further €18m (£16.5m) at the end of a second season-long loan spell.

Meanwhile, defender Marcos Rojo is reportedly eager to push through a loan move to Turkish outfit Fenerbahce.

But according to The Times the move could be scuppered by the Argentine’s wage demands. The same report claims Rojo was angered by United’s unwillingness to let him join Everton on loan on deadline day, but is now focussed on a move to Europe and a club where he will get regular game time.
