Alexis Sanchez breaks silence on permanent Manchester United exit

Alexis Sanchez has admitted he feels at home at Inter Milan and is delighted to have completed a permanent transfer from Manchester United.

The Chilean has brought to an end a disastrous two and a half years at Old Trafford, the last of which was spent on loan at Inter, with Antonio Conte's side snapping him up on a three-year deal.

After signing for United from Arsenal in January 2018 when Jose Mourinho was in charge, it never worked out for Sanchez and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was happy to sanction his permanent departure.

The 31-year-old has played 30 games in all competitions for Inter this season, scoring four goals and could not hide his delight as he permanently joins fellow ex Reds Romelu Lukaku and Ashley Young at the San Siro.

"I'm really happy to be staying here with you, Inter fans," Sanchez told Inter's social media channels. "I've found a family here, and the staff are great.

"[It's] a group where there's a real desire to win something big. People here want to fight together as a team to give the club the success it deserves.

"I'm hungry and I want to win - my goal is to make all our fans happy. I'm here to win, and I'm happy that I'm staying here at Inter!"

United and Sanchez could be reuinted fairly soon, should both Solskjaer's side and Inter reach the Europa League final. Both teams booked their places in the quarter-finals this week with victories over LASK Linz and Getafe respectively.

Conte called the permanent addition of Sanchez "a really good transfer... considering the conditions."
