World Cup panelists and millions of viewers were left stunned as Alexi Lalas hurled an astonishing insult at James Corden on live television.
The USA World Cup legend delivered the jaw-dropping moment during Friday's World Cup coverage on Fox.
Lalas, who earned 96 caps for the US national team between 1991 and 1998, was asked his thoughts on the TV star after a video package was played advertising FIFA World Cup on FOX After Hours with James Corden.
“Can we talk about James Corden for a second?” presenter Rebecca Lowe asked.
Lalas quickly responded: “What do you guys call them? A ... full kit w*****, right?”
The comment left Lowe and fellow panelists Thierry Henry and Zlatan Ibrahimovic stunned.
Lalas went on: “He’s all dressed up and ready to go.”
Lowe was momentarily thrown by the remark, before joking: “Okay, lucky we’re on American TV.”
“Because the W-word on British TV, uh-oh.” she went on.
“Full kit w****r” is a slang term used to mock an adult who wears an entire sports uniform in public.
Corden dressed up in a full Team USA training kit in the promo videos for the new after-hours show , which premiered Thursday on Fox and will run through July 15.
Fans flooded social media with their thoughts on Lalas’s shocking comment - and Henry’s hilarious reaction, as the Arsenal and France footballing legend stared opened-mouthed down the camera.
One wrote on X: “Did anyone else catch Alexi Lalas completely stunning Fox viewers by calling James Corden that on live TV? World Cup entertainment coverage is already completely off the rails and I love it.”
Another posted: “Thierry Henry’s reaction is sensational.”
