Alexandria garage torched in targeted late-night attack prompting police appeal

An appeal has been launched for information after a car garage was torched in Alexandria in what police believe was a deliberate and targeted incident. 

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service rushed to the scene of the incident on North Street around 11.30pm on Thursday, July 16.

They were able to safely extinguish the fire and there were no injuries as a result.

Police are now looking to identify those involved.

Detective Constable Ross Kelly, of Clydebank CID, said: “We believe this to be a targeted incident and are treating the fire as deliberate.

"Thankfully nobody has been injured and we are looking to identify those involved in this reckless act.

"We are looking to speak to anyone who has any information or noticed anyone acting suspicious in the area to get in contact with police.

"I would also appeal to anyone that has any dashcam or CCTV footage of the area to speak to officers.

"Police can be contacted on 101 quoting incident number 0034 of Friday, 17 July, 2020.”
