The council have confirmed that a funfair will not be going ahead in Alexandria this weekend - despite organisers pitching up on site.
West Dunbartonshire Council today (Tuesday) confirmed to the Lennox Herald that they had rejected a temporary public entertainment license for the event.
Had it been granted, the fair would have been held in Bank Street this weekend.

Local people spotted funfair organisers on the site with equipment today, prompting some concern.
A council spokeswoman said: “The applicant has been informed that if they wish to rearrange the event for a date in the future, the application will require to be determined at a meeting of the licensing committee.”
