The Lyon chairman, Jean-Michel Aulas, has signalled his intentions to resist any summer moves for the France forward Alexandre Lacazette by stating that €50m would not be enough to sign Ligue 1’s top scorer this season.

Lacazette, 23, has been linked with a summer move to a host of Europe’s leading clubs after netting 27 league goals this season, including Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain.

Aulas, however, is determined to keep hold of his star turn and revealed he has had no contact with PSG, who have clinched the Ligue 1 title this season with Lyon in second, about Lacazette, whose contract expires in the summer of 2018.

“Nothing is ever sure in football but we will do everything to keep Alexandre with us,” Aulas told Canal+. “€50m would not be enough, that is not the price. I have never spoken with [the PSG president] Nasser al-Khelaifi about Alexandre Lacazette and I do not get the feeling, when I listen to Laurent Blanc, that he wants to sign him.”
