Alexandre Lacazette set for Arsenal exit, Chelsea eye Stones - Premier League transfer rumours

Fans won’t have long to wait until the new Premier League season gets underway, with the restart just over a month away.

That means there isn’t too much time for Leeds United and other clubs to get their summer transfer business done ahead of kick-off in the 2020/21 campaign.

The effects of the coronavirus pandemic could lead to less players being on the move, although there’s no shortage of rumours doing the rounds.

Here are the latest transfer rumours and gossip coming from across the Premier League.

Lacazette set for Atletico switch

Alexandre Lacazette will reportedly join Atletico Madrid once Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang signs a new deal at Arsenal.

The Gabon international is thought to be close to extending his stay in north London, although that could spell the end for his strike partner with the Gunners.

According to the Daily Star , Lacazette is on course for a £30million move to Spain, having nearly joined Diego Simeone’s side back in 2017.

The Frenchman is said to be unhappy to be no more than a bit-part figure in Mikel Arteta’s plans going forward, with his place under threat as Arsenal close in on the signing of Willian.

New deal on offer for Sancho

Borussia Dortmund will offer Jadon Sancho a new deal and a significant pay rise if Manchester United do not meet their deadline, according to reports in Germany.

The England international is the subject of a long-running transfer saga as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks land his top target.

United have been set a deadline of August 10 in order to meet Dortmund’s £100million valuation of Sancho, although reports have suggested they don’t want to rush as they look to avoid paying over the odds.

Bild though have reported that Dortmund could look to extend Sancho’s stay at the club should United go beyond their deadline.

Lampard looking to snap up Stones

Chelsea are looking to sign Manchester City defender John Stones as Frank Lampard looks to overhaul his defence ahead of the new season.

Stones has fallen down the pecking order under Pep Guardiola following the signing of Nathan Ake from Bournemouth, as well as a number of below-par performances last season.

Lampard could therefore look to pounce, and – according to The Mirror – could land the England international in a bargain £20million deal.

The Chelsea boss is aiming to overhaul his defence ahead of the news season, with the Blues also reportedly joining Leeds and Liverpool in the race to sign Brighton’s Ben White.
