Alexandre Lacazette's surprise transfer as Antoine Griezmann reveals alternate Arsenal XI

In modern football, you will often hear about how the players are disconnected from the supporters and reality itself - but Antoine Griezmann has shown himself in a different light.

The World Cup winner, who was one of the biggest movers in the summer transfer window after leaving Atletico Madrid for Barcelona, has revealed he isn't too different from you and I.

In a social media post, the France international showed what an alternate future for the Gunners could look like with him at the helm over Unai Emery, as he shared an image of his Football Manager save.

Four years into this alternate future, Griezmann has assembled a squad in north London that includes Jadon Sancho, Phil Foden, Joao Felix, Matthijs de Ligt and Raphael Varane.

This super squad in 2023 is certainly brimming with notable names but there is also a number of significant absentees - namely the fact that there isn't a single member of the current Arsenal squad that is left standing.

Alexandre Lacazette, Griezmann's compatriot and Arsenal's number nine, questioned where he found himself in this alternate reality - and the answer, surprisingly, was Huddersfield Town.

However, the France forward at least went out on a high as he lifted the Premier League, Carabao Cup and Champions League before moving to West Yorkshire for a fee of £23.5m - which seems a little cheap.

Thankfully, Lacazette seemed happy with how this turned out as he replied that it was a 'beautiful end' - and Griezmann added that he will bild a statue for his compatriot outside the Emirates Stadium.

Unai Emery on why he decided not to start with new signings

If Griezmann can bring that sort of success to North London in reality, perhaps Raul Sanllehi should rekindle his close ties with Barcelona to sort out a managerial role for him further down the line.
