Alexandre Lacazette's four-word Instagram message as Arsenal injury blow is confirmed

Alexandre Lacazette has been ruled out of Arsenal's Premier League clash against Everton.

The striker, who has been in impressive form of late - scoring against West Ham United, Sheffield United, and Slavia Prague over the past month - is set for a spell on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.

Lacazette sustained the injury in last weekend's 1-1 draw against Fulham and following an update on the club's official website earlier in the week, it has been confirmed that he will play no part when the Toffees visit the Emirates Stadium.

"Alex Lacazette. Left hamstring. Alex has sustained a strain to his left hamstring and will be unavailable for Friday’s match against Everton," a statement reads. "He will continue to work with the medical team and will be assessed ahead of next week’s matches."

With that said, it is unclear whether this means Lacazette will also be out for Arsenal's first leg of the Europa League semi-final first leg against Villarreal next Thursday.

Furthermore, it remains to be seen who replaces the Frenchman in attack against Everton.

Whilst Eddie Nketiah is the most likely option, some Arsenal fans are hopeful that Folarin Balogun will get the nod on what would be his Premier League debut.

Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta also has the option of using Gabriel Martinelli through the middle and speed up his long-term plans for the Brazilian wonderkid.

But for Lacazette, work on getting fit to help the Gunners end the season as strongly as possible has already begun.

As seen in the post above, following confirmation of him missing the Everton clash, Lacazette has been active on social media.

Although, it hasn't been to discuss when he will return to action, but rather to send birthday wishes to teammate David Luiz who turned 34 on Thursday (April 22).

"Happy bday, @DavidLuiz_4," Lacazette wrote on his Instagram stories.

Along with Lacazette, Luiz is also unavailable to face Everton as he continues to recover from a knee injury that has seen him miss the last five games across all competitions.

To make matters worse the Gunners will also be without captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and left-back Kieran Tierney.

The 31-year-old is recovering after spending some days in hospital with malaria which he picked up while on international duty with Gabon, whilst the latter has a knee problem.
