Alexandre Lacazette 'likes' post calling for Arsenal to sack Unai Emery after Palace draw

Arsenal dropped two points in the race for the top four after blowing a two goal lead to draw 2-2 with Crystal Palace.

The Gunners were cruising after goals from Sokratis and David Luiz put them on course for a vital victory against Roy Hodgson's side.

But a penalty from Luka Milivojevic reduced the deficit before half time, before Jordan Ayew headed in the equaliser from James McArthur's cross at the far post.

The game was also marred by ugly scenes involving captain Granit Xhaka after the midfielder was substituted by Unai Emery in the second half.

Xhaka was replaced by Bukayo Saka to a chorus of cheers from the home supporters which sparked an angry reaction from the Swiss international who cupped his ear sarcastically.

Fan then reacted angrily by booing which led to Xhaka appearing to mutter f*** off several times before taking off his shirt and walking straight down the tunnel.

Speaking about the incident after the game, Emery said: "He was wrong. We need to stay calm, speak to him internally about that.

"We are working with the club and the players to play under pressure.

"We are going to speak with him because the reaction was wrong.

"We are here because we have supporters. We work for them and need to have respect for them when they are applauding us and criticising us."

Emery himself is under increased pressure after the result, with some supporters calling for his dismissal.

Fans held placards reading 'Emery out' in midweek during the Europa League game against Vitoria, and the draw against Palace served to heap further scrutiny on the Spaniard, who has been criticised for his negative tactics and Arsenal's poor away form.

After the Palace match on Sunday, one supporter posted on Instagram with the caption: 'Im sorry, I’m done with this now. You can’t be 2-0 up at home to palace and draw. Emery I’ve backed you but bro, enough is enough. Xhaka can f*** himself as well. Never wanna see him in an arsenal top again!!'

And Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette, who started the game, raised eyebrows by 'liking' the post.

The Gunners travel to Liverpool for a Carabao Cup tie on Wednesday night before facing Wolves next weekend at the Emirates.
