Alexandre Lacazette has appeared to deliver his verdict on Arsenal’s move for Paris Saint-Germain defender Layvin Kurzawa.
football.london understands the Gunners are in talks with the French champions over a move for the left-back, with negotiations at an advanced stage.
Kurzawa is out of contract in the summer, and there was a suggestion that the defender could move to the Emirates this month.
But according to France Football, the 27-year-old will arrive on a free transfer in the summer after a five-year-deal was agreed between both parties.
The deal means that Kurzawa will stay at PSG for the remainder of his contract, before joining the Gunners before the start of the 2020/21 Premier League season.
It is also claimed that the full-back had an offer from Milan, but has chosen to join Arsenal.
Amid the speculation, Gunners striker Lacazette took to Instagram to 'like' a mocked-up picture of the France international wearing an Arsenal jersey.
Lacazette is set to start for Arsenal in their Premier League clash against Sheffield United on Saturday.
Speaking ahead of the game, head coach Mikel Arteta admitted that the Gunners are not looking for excuses in light of the defensive injuries.
"We have a lot of issues at the back, the fact that Calum got the big injury is modifying our plans,” he told reporters on Friday.
“It is what we have, the situation, it can happen between December and January, it is very common.
“We have to live with it, this is what we have.
“We have to put 11 players out on the pitch on Saturday and I am sure we will."
When asked whether Arsenal would be busy in the January transfer window, Arteta replied: "Yes, but it has to be the right player, in the right context that financially we can compete and we can attract and all these factors, if you put them together, are not easy in this market."
