Battle for Kulusevski in North London
Calciomercato have reported that Antonio Conte and Tottenham are interested in winger Dejan Kulusevski which could threaten Arsenal’s bid for the player.
Arsenal is still being strongly linked with the Juventus player, who came on as a sub in the 4-0 Champions League thrashing against reigning champions - Chelsea.
The report states that Juve manager Massimiliano Allegri doesn’t want to ‘find space’ for the Swedish international, doesn’t ‘consider him ready’ and is 'difficult to place on the pitch’. Ouch...
Our take: Kulusevski is on the hunt for more playing time and it could well be that Arsenal is a good destination for him where he can guarantee minutes on the pitch.
Lacazette considering options
Alexandre Lacazette told French television channel Telefoot that his agents are ‘looking’ at options for him this summer after his contract with Arsenal expires.
Speaking to the channel he said: “Of course, my agents are starting to look to the right and to the left. But not until January, I really want to focus on something.
“And then we will see what is on offer, if the challenges are interesting if there are beautiful projects, how they are counting on me.
“So there are still many questions, I prefer to wait until January to position myself.”
Our take: It’s no surprise that Lacazette is considering and have his agents looking elsewhere from North London. With no secure deal at Arsenal, he’ll want to keep his options open and wait for an opportunity to arise.
Richards praises Tavares
Former Manchester City full-back praised Nuno Tavares for his performance in Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Newcastle, “He was excellent and I’m not just doing it because he’s a full-back,’ Richards said on Match of the Day. ‘He was one of the best players on the pitch.
“What I liked about him was he just didn’t stay, every opportunity he went forward and he went forward with quality.
