Alexandra Burke gives birth to first baby with footballer Darren Randolph

Alexandra Burke has given birth to her first child. The former X Factor star made the exciting announcement to fans on Instagram early on Monday morning.

The star shared the news that she and footballer other half Darren Randolph had welcomed their new baby in a sweet post which featured a picture of their newborn son's feet. The 33-year-old said: "Welcome to the world our little grape. We already love you more than words can say."

The star told followers in February that she was expecting after meeting West Ham player Darren last May.

She said "due June 2022" alongside a clip of Darren kissing her tummy.

The pair also took a walk in a forest and played with their dogs in the adorable film.

Other cute scenes showed the couple cuddling up and rubbing Alexandra's bump as well as her relaxing on a pregnancy ball.

Alexandra and goalkeeper Darren first got together after the Broken Heels hitmaker joked she would never date another footballer following her split from Rotherham United defender Angus MacDonald.

At the time they met Alexandra was performing in the West End production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and an insider said that the pair were taking things "incredibly slowly."

The singer recently said she will take minimal maternity leave before rejoining to the touring production of Joseph And The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat on September 12.

She has kept working throughout the pregnancy and was still performing eight shows a week in the latter stages, taking on the role of the stage production’s narrator.

She said: “I will be back for Joseph in the middle of September in Milton Keynes. It’s so close.

“I know two months may not seem like a lot of maternity leave but I think it’s right for me.

“Baby will always come first but I feel anything is possible with planning.

“I love what I do, I love singing. I’m confident I can make it all work. I know people who take a whole year off and that’s brilliant, but we are all different and that isn’t what I want to do."
