Alexander Isak offers promising sign in new interview after revealing special Newcastle feeling

Alexander Isak has revealed that he has 'really liked' life in Newcastle since completing his 'dream' move to St James' Park.

Newcastle United smashed their transfer record to sign the Sweden international from Real Sociedad last summer and the new arrival quickly made an impact with a stunning goalscoring debut against Liverpool at Anfield. Isak went on to make a further two appearances for the club - scoring a penalty against Bournemouth - before suffering a thigh injury.

Isak has since had a positive result from his latest scan, following a recurrence of the same issue, and the World Cup break will now give the striker the chance to build up his fitness. Newcastle hope Isak will be available by the time the club calendar restarts next month and even the measured Eddie Howe has said that he is 'excited' by that prospect.

Although Isak has not featured for a couple of months, the 23-year-old has certainly not been forgotten by Newcastle supporters, who have continued to sing his name with the chant: 'We've got Bruno in the middle, he knows exactly what we need. Botman at the back, Isak in attack, Newcastle are going to win the Premier League.' Rather than being overwhelmed by that support - Jermaine Jenas once bizarrely likened life in Newcastle to 'living in a fishbowl' - Isak has rightly embraced it.

"It’s a dream come true as I have always wanted to play in the Premier League," he told Vogue Scandinavia. "It’s fast, straightforward football here, so suits my game.

"Also, I really like the city as everyone who lives in Newcastle is a Newcastle fan so you can really feel the passion. It’s a special feeling."
