Dancing On Ice's Alexander Demetriou has confirmed his marriage has broken down after four years - just weeks after partnering with Maura Higgins for the ITV series.
Alex, 28, shared the news on his Instagram as he revealed how he and estranged wife Carlotta Edwards, 30, made the decision for the 'best'.
"I'm sorry I have been quiet on social media recently but it's been a tough time for me personally," he wrote in a statement.
"Carlotta and I have separated. Although it saddens me that we can no longer be together, I feel this is best for both of us.

"I'm looking forward to what the future will bring but in the meantime let's all say home and stay safe. Alex xx."
Carlotta is yet to break her silence publicly but has been isolating separately from him with her family in Calgary.
Alex, meanwhile, has stayed in London.
He and his DOI celebrity partner Maura were accused of being more than friends thanks to their flirty on-screen chemistry earlier this year, although both denied there was anything romantic between them.

Maura also split from Love Island boyfriend Curtis Pritchard earlier this year, but claimed she was just "very close friends" with her ice-skating partner.
"Alex and I are so close - we've trained together for months," she told the Sun.
"Obviously, we're going to be close, exactly like every other partner on the show. But that's it. We're very close friends and we get on well."

Just last month, Alex referenced his wife while posing on Instagram with fellow skater Lukasz Rozycki.
He captioned it: "I have always looked up to this guy @icelukasz even before we started working together on @dancingonice. He and his wife @alex_lukasz have always been an inspiration to myself and @carlottaedwards."
Alex's last Insta post featuring Carlotta was on February 24 when they appeared in a group shot with Hollywood star Luke Evans, who had sung on Dancing On Ice that evening.

They also walked the red carpet together at the National Television Awards in late January, when Alex wrote: "Well that was fun. Thank you so much to the NTAs for inviting myself, my beautiful wife @carlottaedwards and the rest of the @dancingonice cast. It was an incredible night that we won't forget. I have to say I do think we both look goooood."
And he shared a couples shot of them together on January 18, captioning it: "Can't believe it's already Sunday tomorrow. This photo with my babe @carlottaedwards feels like ages ago but it's only been one week!"
Carlotta, meanwhile, appears to have made a cryptic jibe at her broken marriage in an Insta post shared over the weekend.

The image, featuring two hands forming a heart to frame a sunset, was captioned: "It's you and me, that's my whole world... Thinking about all of the pretty sunrises + sunsets I've witnessed here in #calgary This was one of my favorite moments I had with the world..."
She tagged Cape Town and South Africa in the picture, but tellingly not her estranged husband.
