Alexander Buttner's imperfect Man United Sir Alex Ferguson mural mocked by fans

Former Manchester United player Alexander Buttner has endured some light-hearted jokes after sharing his Sir Alex Ferguson mural.

The legendary former United boss signed Buttner in 2012 for £4m and the Dutchman claimed it was the best day of his life.

Buttner made just 13 Premier League appearances across two seasons for the Reds but still played his role in the 2012/13 title-winning campaign before David Moyes viewed him as surplus to requirements in the summer of 2014, which ended his Old Trafford career.

After United clinched their last Premier League title eight years ago, the left-back was pictured celebrating with Sir Alex Ferguson holding the trophy in the dressing room and he's since commissioned a mural in his home to commemorate the image.

However, while Buttner was clearly proud of the artwork, sharing the image on social media with the caption of 'champion of England with the boss' some supporters were quick to suggest the mural of Sir Alex Ferguson bears little resemblance to reality.

One supporter commented 'great painting of you and Lee Mack' while others made the observation that the size of Sir Alex Ferguson's hands were disproportionate and another commented 'looks nothing like Fergie'.

It wasn't all negative, though, as many United' supporters showed their affection for Buttner and his time at the club.
