Alexa drives Line of Duty fans wild with cryptic responses to Sunday's cliffhanger and H's identity

Desperate Line of Duty viewers have been left on edge after trying to get information from Alexa about the BBC drama.

Audiences in excess of 10 million have been thoroughly hooked on the show's sixth series, which, after a much maligned first episode, has been firing on all cylinders in recent weeks to have us all doing a Ted Hastings and exclaiming "mother of God!" as the jaw-dropping action played out on screen.

Episodes 4 and 5 have fans two back to back cliffhangers as we firstly all frantically rewound and paused our TVs to try and see who Jo Davidson's blood relative was and then were left guessing as shots sounded out as the credits rolled on last Sunday's show, after Kate Fleming and Ryan Pilkington pointed a gun at each other.

And then of course there is the still unanswered question - who is H?

That particular mystery has been the subject of much speculation this week as some fans claim to have worked out that H is none other than Patricia Carmichael.

Some avid Line of Duty devotees are clearly not content with watching the show to find out the answers they so desperately want and have now taken to asking their Amazon Alexa the burning questions.

In a video shared online, one Alexa is asked who H is, to which the device replies: "Jesus, Mary and Joseph fella, I cant tell you that, I'll end up in Terry's freezer. But why not try asking me who shot who?”

Taking Alexa's lead, a fan then put her on the spot about last Sunday's ending and who will survive the shoot out.

But keeping her cards very close to her chest, Alexa replied: "“Mother of God, what a cliffhanger.

“I reckon Steve, Ted and Chloe got there just in time to take out fat sprat Pilkington in which case they can concentrate on finding the mackerel."

Earlier this week, Ted Hastings himself, actor Adrian Dunbar dropped a bit of a bombshell when he told Good Morning Britain hosts Susanna Reid and Adil Ray that a big clue was already out there as to who survived the shoot out.

He told them "I know and a lot of Line of Duty fans know."

Adil exclaimed: "Oh oh...have they worked it out?" as Susanna questioned: "Do they?!"

Keeping them guessing, Adrian nodded his head before replying: "A lot of Line of Duty know what's going on," prompting Susanna to say: "Oh no; I feel like you're giving us a heavy piece of information that I can't for the life of me work out."
