Alex Scott reveals date with ITV Coronation Street star after rumoured romance didn't get off to 'great start'

Alex Scott has revealed she had a 'disastrous date' with one of the stars of Coronation Street. The former footballer has previously been rumoured to have enjoyed a romance with Sam Robertson, who stars as Adam Barlow in the ITV soap.

For the first time, Alex, 37, has opened up about her private life, including her romances, sharing how she and Sam had enjoyed a candlelit dinner back in 2020 at a fancy Soho restaurant in London.

Alex is set to open up about her love life in her new memoir, How (Not) To Be Strong, in which she also opens up about falling "madly and deeply in love" with fellow Lioness Kelly Smith and her subsequent heartbreak when they split.

Speaking of Corrie star Sam, Alex has penned in her book, according to The Mirror, "I never seem to have a lot of luck on date. My one date in ages was going out with Sam [Robertson], who is lovely."

Alex continued to The Sun's Fabulous magazine: "The next morning, our pictures were all over the press because someone in the restaurant had taken a photo. It wasn’t exactly a great start!"

Football pundit Alex recently opened up about how when it came to writing the chapter revealing Kelly had been her first love, she almost couldn't bring herself to do it. But speaking at her book launch in London, she said it would have been “cheating” to leave it out.

Alex, watched from the audience by her mum, explained: “I went back and forth on whether I’d actually be writing the chapter. But then it was one of those moments, I’m writing this book and I want to tell everything. I thought I’d be cheating you all if I didn’t put that in there. And for me, it’s like that first love story, I fell madly and deeply in love.

"And yes, there’s that heartbreak and those things, but it’s a huge part of my life and I wouldn’t go back and change that. Because that feeling of love and that excitement and what it gives you, it needed to be in there."
