She ended a lengthy serious relationship before taking part in Strictly – but now Alex Scott has scored with a Corrie hunk.
The former footballer – tipped to replace Sue Barker on A Question of Sport – enjoyed a champagne dinner date with Sam Robertson, who plays Adam Barlow on the cobbles, at the weekend.
The couple drank bubbles at London’s Dean Street Townhouse as they chatted and flirted. One onlooker said: “There was clearly a spark.”
Scottish actor Sam, who has appeared on Celebrity Big Brother, previously dated co-star Faye Brookes.
Alex recently thanked people for “love and support”, after she received racist and sexist abuse online following the news she is mooted to land the A Question of Sport presenting slot.
Yesterday, it was reported she could also front a new BBC daytime programme in the pipeline.
The ex-Arsenal and England defender, who earned 140 caps for her country, said she tries not to let negative messages bring her down.
“At first, I thought no one liked me on TV as there was a whole lot of negativity online,” she told Hello! magazine.
“But I’ve got to a place now where those comments are only like 10 to 20% and I have a whole audience that does love me and is behind me.
“I don’t want to let that small percentage stop me or get me down when I’ve worked so hard to be where I am.”
