Alex Scott claps back after Soccer Aid viewers complain about interview blunder

Viewers had their say after Soccer Aid presenter Alex Scott suffered an awkward blunder at start of the ITV coverage.

As the footballer turned presenter tried to interview coach Judy Murray people watching the UNICEF charity match at home complained that they couldn't hear what she was saying.

After asking Judy a question, Judy's mic appeared to fail.

After a few seconds of Judy on mute, Alex offered out her own microphone and viewers noted it happened again later in the show as Alex tried to interview more guests.

Alex has now clapped back at the criticism while reminding people what the event was all about, saying: "What a 'sound' night that was @socceraid for UNICEF 2021 officially a record-breaker!!

"Raising an incredible £13,014,769 – the most in Soccer Aid history! Raising handsRaising handsRaising hands wow!!!

One fan tweeted: "Soccer Aid just a tip ITV GIVE THE MICROPHONE WHEN THEY ARE TALKING."

Another said: "Alex Scott asking Judy Murray a question then forgetting to put the mic in front of her."

Another viewer commented: "@AlexScott when interviewing give the interviewee a microphone #SoccerAid #basics"

And another: "These interviews are pointless we can't hear s***."

But others praised Alex for doing a great job from the Etihad Stadium as England took on World XI.

"@AlexScott great performance on Soccer aid last night, presented well and looked great," said one.

"Great job and you looked amazing," said another.

"Keep up the good work lovely," cheered another.
