Alex Redmond cleared to return to practice with Bengals

The Cincinnati Bengals will get some help in the offensive trenches this week with Alex Redmond cleared to practice after passing a physical.

Redmond started the preseason on the physically unable to perform list before getting clearance. He’s currently suspended for the first four games of the regular season due to a violation of the league’s performance-enhancing drugs policy.

Despite the suspension, Redmond is eligible to take part in the team’s three remaining preseason games before the suspension actually kicks in at the start of September.

Redmond is presumably still in the mix at right guard and will get some run, though new arrival John Miller has been penciled in as the starter going into the season based on performance, not just Redmond’s impending absence.
