Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain sends three-word message after making long-awaited Liverpool return

Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain posted a three-word message to Instagram after returning to training for the first time since pre-season.

The former Arsenal-man made a promising start to preparations for the upcoming campaign as he stepped up his bid to be in Jurgen Klopp's plans for the 2022/23 Premier League season.

But his recent injury struggles continued as he suffered a hamstring problem in Liverpool's pre-season friendly win over Crystal Palace.

As a result, Oxlade-Chamberlain has been sidelined for three months, missing 12 games for the Reds. His return to training is a timely boost for Klopp after Arthur Melo became the latest casualty in midfield.

The Brazilian joined Naby Keita on the treatment table as the Guinean recovers from a muscle injury which has consigned him to just five minutes of football this season - coming in the Community Shield win over Manchester City.

In a post on Instagram, Oxlade-Chamberlain posted a simple message: "Back in action," as he steps up his recovery.

The 29-year-old wasn't the only notable presence for Liverpool as left-back Andy Robertson returned to the fold after missing a month of action with a knee injury.

Ahead of their trip to Ibrox to face Rangers, Klopp revealed that the Scot will be back in the squad for the clash with Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side - but there is no place for Oxlade-Chamberlain.

He said: "Robbo is in the squad for tomorrow. Curtis, Naby, Ox not. It's good Robbo is back but not that he'll be in the team."
