Alex Mack on Devonta Freeman’s ejection: ‘I appreciate his passion’

Things got ugly during the Falcons’ 37-10 loss to the Rams, and not just on the scoreboard.

Perhaps the low point of the game, other than quarterback Matt Ryan’s ankle injury, was running back Devonta Freeman getting thrown out after throwing a punch at Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald.

Falcons center Alex Mack defended Freeman’s passion and fire after the game, even though he said he doesn’t want to see the team lose players for breaking rules.

Freeman got into it with Donald after an interception wasted yet another Falcons offensive drive.

Following the game, owner Arthur Blank said he will continue to stand by head coach Dan Quinn. We shall see just how long that loyalty lasts if this team can’t end its losing skid.

When your 5-foot-8 running back gets so frustrated that he swings on the most dominant defensive tackle in the league, things aren’t going so well.
