Alex Jones takes her children 'back to where it all started' at the Welsh castle where she got married

Welsh TV presenter Alex Jones often returns to Wales during the school holidays taking her husband Charlie Thompson, and children Kit, Teddy and Annie. Now she has posted a sweet picture to her Instagram saying she took her children "back to where it all started" as they visited the beautiful Welsh castle where she and Charlie married.

Alex and Charlie married in a gorgeous ceremony at Cardiff Castle, an iconic landmark of Cardiff, on New Year's Eve in 2015. The couple first met at a party in 2011.

They hosted their wedding ceremony in Cardiff Castle’s stone-vaulted 15th-century undercroft, followed by a reception in the castle’s 18th-century library and dining room. The wedding breakfast was held in the magnificent Banqueting Hall, where guests tucked into a three-course menu that included Welsh lamb shoulder braised with sweet sherry and rosemary, and Cotswold roast chicken with lemon and thyme.

Now Alex has revisited the castle, which is also open to the public, with her children. Posting a photo of the family of five smiling at the camera, Alex said: "We took them back to where it all started" followed by a red love heart emoji.

Alex and her family have also visited St Fagans National Museum of History during their break. Alex revealed she also loved frequenting the museum as a child. She wrote: "It might have been a cloudy old day but today I took the children to somewhere I loved going as a child and we had a great time. If you haven't been…go!!! So much to see. Such a unique experience! @museumwales."

While enjoying her trip back to Wales Alex was replaced by Emma Willis on The One Show. You can keep up to date with the latest TV and showbiz news by signing up to the newsletter here.
