More than 200 people took part in the two-mile walk around Bute Park for Kidney Wales Foundation's Walk for Life, bolstered by the singing voices of Only Men Aloud.
The walk saw those who had received or were waiting for organ transplants take part in the Cardiff event, raising £1,000 on the day through bucket collections. The walk finished at Cardiff castle with an easter egg hunt, and Kidney Wales hoped to break last year's record of £95,000 by hitting the £100K mark through funds raised by events taking place across Wales.
Alex Jones is an ambassador for Kidney Wales and a patron for the Walk for Life. Speaking to Real Radio Wales' Sam Fleet, she said: "Having met the parents and children, we are trying to do our very bext to help raise awareness and money for such a good cause."
Jones is now in training for the 10K run in September, where she hopes to beat her own record from last year.
