Alex Jones has revealed she was rushed to hospital after she couldn’t feel her baby move “for a few days”.

The One Show host shared a snap from a hospital bed with a heart rate monitor attached to her bump, explaining how she needed to be “reassured” amid panic over her unborn child’s lack of movement.

She wrote: “Hadn't felt much movement from the baby for a few days so lying here being monitored. If in doubt mammas ALWAYS check! So reassuring to hear the heartbeat.”

The star, 41, confirmed that her child is fine and thanked fans for their supportive messages.

Jones added: “All was fine at the hospital. His or hers little heartbeat was going like the clappers but good to check. Thanks for the messages.”

Last year, Jones announced the news that she is expecting her second child with husband Charlie Thomson live on The One Show.

The couple are already parents to son Teddy, who they welcomed last year.

Jones last year returned to work just three months after giving birth, a decision she later admitted she regretted.

The TV presenter described her return as a “nightmare” as she was forced to give up breast-feeding Teddy.

At the time she explained on the Happy Mum Happy Baby Podcast: “I went back too soon. I was still trying to feed going back to work.

“After the meeting I’d try and express, then go into the rehearsal, and go back and try and express a little bit more, and my milk was in the fridge with all the food being given to the guests.

“I was like, this is not working and this is a nightmare.”

The One Show airs on BBC One weeknights at 7pm.
