Luckless Dundee striker Alex Jakubiak has suffered a dislocated shoulder after being jumped on a night out.
The 25-year-old now faces a spell on the sidelines after the weekend incident.
It is another blow to James McPake and his side as they fight to get off the bottom of the table.
It comes at a time when Dundee are struggling for goals and Leigh Griffiths could be facing a potential ban.
Jason Cummings has just come back to full fitness and Griffiths is still trying to get up to full match fitness.
Jakubiak has only returned from injury and came off the bench in the Dark Blues' defeat to Rangers.
Dundee remain rooted to the foot of the Premiership and have yet to register a victory since their return to the top-flight.
McPake's side have drawn three and lost four of their opening seven matches.
They next face a Tayside derby with St Johnstone this coming Saturday.
