Capcom has officially confirmed that Alex, the next Year 3 DLC character for Street Fighter 6, is coming in early spring.
The teaser has Alex in what’s already a traditional World Tour introduction of the character, where he showcases his wrestling prowess.
The teaser clearly teases him as a wrestling “heel,” a dramatic turn from his Street Fighter III persona, where he was a clear “face.” The post describes him as “The Man With No Allies,” which would further solidify him as one of the bad guys.
Alex is the third character in Street Fighter 6’s Year 3 rollout, which started with Sagat and continues with C. Viper before closing out the season with Ingrid later in spring 2026. Capcom has abstained from giving out concrete release dates, opting for release windows instead.

Alex’s inclusion in Year 3 pass was first revealed months ago in Capcom’s Season 3 character announcement trailer featuring pro wrestler Kenny Omega, who cosplayed as multiple characters for the reveal video.
Alex will be included in both the Year 3 Character Pass and Year 3 Ultimate Pass. The Character Pass includes the four Year 3 fighters, Outfit 1 color variants for those characters, and 3,000 Drive Tickets. The Ultimate Pass adds Outfit 2 and Outfit 3 (with color options), an additional stage, and increases the Drive Ticket bonus to 5,800.
Capcom has also reiterated that Alex will be available across Street Fighter 6’s main modes once he releases, which makes sense, considering his World Tour-style reveal.
Who is Alex?

Alex debuted in Street Fighter III: New Generation and was positioned as the face of the Street Fighter III era. He’s an American grappler with a pro-wrestling identity, built around close-range pressure and high-impact command grabs. This teaser shows that most of that identity was retained, and he even performs several of his iconic moves: Flash Chop, Flying Knee, Headbutt, and Power Bomb.
Alex is best known for being a typical grappler: he wants to get in, stay in, make you guess and press the wrong buttons. He has nice strike pressure as well, but his defining feature is still grappling, with big rewards on correct reads.
After Year 2 and its guest characters, Street Fighter 6’s Year 3 pass turns out to be solid so far. Sagat was a franchise pillar, C.Viper is someone many fans yearned to play again after Street Fighter IV, Alex is a Street Fighter III-era staple, and Ingrid is a bit of a deep cut with many unknowns.
A proper gameplay video for Alex is sure to come in the near future.
