Alex Hall wins Olympic gold and Nick Goepper silver for U.S. in men's freeski slopestyle

Alex Hall won an Olympic gold medal and Nick Goepper silver for Team USA in the free ski slopestyle on Day 12 of the 2022 Beijing Winter Games.

By the numbers: Hall scored 90.01 on his first run, while Goepper secured second, with 86.48. Sweden's Jesper Tjader won the bronze medal with a score of 85.35.

What he's saying: "It definitely was the best slopestyle run I've ever done," Hall told Olympics.com after the event.

  • "I figured I'll just give it my all and go all-in right away," he added. "And it somehow worked out on that first run."

The big picture: This was two-time Olympian Hall's first-ever Winter Games medal and it was Goepper's third in this event.

Editor's note: This article has been updated with comment from Hall and details of the event scores and the U.S. Olympians' medal tally.
