Alex Bruce makes Kilmarnock return as defender signs new one-year deal

Kilmarnock have re-signed Alex Bruce.

The veteran defender was out-of-contract but has now returned to Rugby Park.

The former Hull City star has penned an initial deal for the new season.

The 34-year-old will give Angelo Alessio’s squad defensive cover for Kirk Broadfoot and Stuart Findlay.

Bruce won’t be eligible for the Europa League second leg with Connah’s Quay Nomads on Thursday but can play if they progress.

Kilmarnock could also lose defenders in this window.

Oxford want Scotland squad defender Stuart Findlay but are only prepared to pay £500,000 while Killie value him at more than double that.

Left-back Greg Taylor is also wanted by German side Nuremberg have had a £500,000 bid rejected but they are set to return.

Killie are also trying to strengthen and are losing in on a loan deal for Manchester City winger Thomas Agyepong.
