Alex Bregman wears lucky shirt to Game 6, hits HR in first inning

The Houston Astros have a chance to win the 2019 World Series on Tuesday night by winning a fourth consecutive game after falling in an early 0-2 hole. The Astros’ comeback in the series has been powered in part by the resurgence of Alex Bregman, who was uncharacteristically quiet in the ALCS but broke out with three hits – including a grand slam – in a Game 4 win.

Bregman has been doing everything he can to keep the Astros’ winning streak alive. After Houston won Game 3, Bregman showed up to Nationals Park the next day wearing the same red flannel shirt. After hitting a grand slam that night, Bregman wore the same shirt again for Game 5.

On Tuesday, Bregman walked into Minute Maid Park in the same outfit.

In his first at-bat of the night, Bregman blasted a solo home run off Stephen Strasburg into left field to give Houston a 2-1 lead. If the Astros win Game 6, that red flannel shirt may belong in Cooperstown.
