Alex Beresford to appear in new ITV documentary tonight about Harry and Meghan's Oprah interview

Bristol's Alex Beresford is set to share more of his thoughts on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's shocking Oprah interview.

A new ITV documentary will air tonight (Sunday, March 14) reflecting on the royal couple's revelations earlier this week, and the heated debate that followed.

Harry & Meghan: The Week That Shook The Royals will include discussions with Good Morning Britain weatherman Alex, who defended the pair in a heartfelt speech on Tuesday's GMB show (March 9).

He accused his colleague Piers Morgan of persistently "trashing" Meghan, prompting Piers to storm off set.

Just hours later, it was announced that the controversial host had quit.

Alex won huge support from viewers but said afterwards that he had not intended to trigger Piers's departure.

The new documentary is presented by Chris Ship, royal editor for ITV News and a regular contributor to GMB's royal discussions.

He tweeted: "If you’ve not had enough #OprahMeghanHarry chat this week - or if you want a run down of the last 6 days, and what it all means, join us on @ITV at 10:20pm tonight.

“Harry & Meghan: The Week That Shook The Royals”.

Alex shared the tweet, adding: "Catch my thoughts on the week that shook the royals tonight on @itv 10:20pm fronted by @chrisshipitv #OprahMeghanHarry."

Cambridgeshire Live reports that Chris Ship will talk to commentators about the fall-out from the high-profile interview, exploring the impact on the Royal Family and the changes the couple hoped to inspire by speaking out.

On ITV's Lorraine on Friday (March 12), television presenter Ria Hebden said the show "will look at the impact that big global interview has had on the Royal Family, and also what the future of the monarchy might look like".

Harry & Meghan: The Week That Shook The Royals will air tonight from 10.15pm-10.55pm on ITV1.
