Alex Beresford returns to Good Morning Britain after row with Piers Morgan

Alex Beresford returned to Good Morning Britain this morning following a ten-day break from the ITV show.

The weather presenter was last seen on GMB on Tuesday, March 9, when he challenged Piers Morgan on his comments about Meghan Markle in the wake of her interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Beresford said Morgan was "trashing" the Duchess of Sussex by refusing to believe she had suicidal thoughts while pregnant with Archie.

Morgan then stormed off the set saying "I'm not having this" and later quit the show entirely.

After little more than a week off work, Beresford returned to his weather duties on this morning's GMB, reports the Mirror Online.

Posting on social media before coming on air, he said: "Good morning x" to his 252k followers.

Hosts Kate Garraway and Charlotte Hawkins then gave him a warm welcome at the start of the programme, with the former saying: "lovely to see you, Alex".

Beresford slipped back into his role without difficulty and even demonstrated his beatboxing skills on air.

Morgan is yet to be permanently replaced, with Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway standing in for him temporarily.

Good Morning Britain airs every weekday at 6am on ITV.
