Alex Beresford has returned to Good Morning Britain almost two weeks after his on-air clash with Piers Morgan.
Beresford was back presenting the weather on Friday morning, with Sean Fletcher presenting the main show before Kate Garraway and Charlotte Hawkins took over.
His return comes 10 days after his argument with Piers Morgan, who abruptly resigned from the show after his comments about the Duchess of Sussex’s interview with Oprah Winfrey led to the highest number of complaints in the TV regulator’s history.
The episodes sparked 57,121 complaints to Ofcom.
Marking Beresford’s return, Ms Garraway said it was “lovely” to have him back on the show but no one mentioned the recent clash and they all continued as normal.
The argument, which caused Morgan to storm off the set, came after the presenter declared that he did not believe Meghan’s account of her mental health struggles.
“I wouldn’t believe her if she read me a weather report,” he said.
Beresford told Morgan: “I understand you don’t like Meghan Markle, you’ve made it so clear a number of times on this programme. I understand you had a personal relationship with Meghan Markle - or had one - and she cut you off.
“She’s entitled to cut you off if she wants to.
“Has she said anything about you since she cut you off? I don’t think she has yet you continue to trash her.”
Morgan dramatically got up and left while saying “Okay, I’m done with this,” adding, “Sorry I can’t do this.”
Beresford called the storming off “absolutely diabolical behaviour.”
