Bristol TV presenter Alex Beresford has opened up about some of the sickening abuse he has received by trolls on social media.
On Thursday, February 18, the GMB host led the show with co-presenter Charlotte Hawkins, as Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard enjoyed a day off.
Laura Tobin was also on hand to help oversee proceedings on Thursday.
The pair interviewed Dame Mary Beard - a professor at Cambridge University - who spoke about her experience taking a Twitter troll out to lunch, Birmingham Live reports.
She appeared via video link to discuss trolling online, leading to a full and frank confession from Alex, who has suffered abuse from vile social media users.
Dame Mary Beard said: "You speak on social media, like you, I think, as you would eyeball to eyeball. End of."
"I completely agree with you," said Alex.
The GMB host then added: "I completely agree with you Mary because some of the things I see on Twitter, well, I would not even read out on this programme.
"So yes, it is a shame social media has gone that way. So your programme is on tonight, at 7pm, on BBC Two?"

On Thursday, Mary Beard spoke to cultural creatives who make other worlds for people's exploration and delight for a BBC Two programme.
Mary also chaired a debate on whether the occult is enjoying a revival or if it has always been more popular than she imagines.
